Whether in social or business situations, people take an average of 10 seconds to evaluate you. The most significant part of first impression formation is the ‘halos and horns’ effect. There is a tendency to allow one’s judgement of another person to be unduly influenced by a favourable (halo) or unfavourable (horn) first impression based on initial impact.

These 10 seconds can be a deal-maker or a deal-breaker. It can mean the difference between an impact of acceptance, respect, even hero worship or the opposite - one of indifference, disdain or outright hostility.

Food for thought:
- Create a positive impact in that 10 seconds
- Strategies to manage that initial impact
- Achieve the personal impact you need - whether with your boss,
in a meeting with an important client or at job interviews

- Be remembered
